My area of NJ was strongly hit by the hurricane, and my family decided to have a small, local family stay at our house until they can find a place to live. They are a very sweet, Korean family. Today I was talking to the young boy, who is eight, about school. He told me he liked school but he didn’t like the other kids. He said the other kids made fun of his name (his name is Won-ki) and the color of his skin. I’ve never cried so hard. It’s not fair that kids so young can discriminate and be so rude. Our society needs to change, he doesn’t deserve this.
